How Hameediya Masjid, Khajipur handles the information you give us.
This policy explains what information Hameediya Masjid, Khajipur collects through this website and mobile app, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We are a masjid committee, not a business: we collect as little as we can, and we do not sell or trade anyone's information.
What we collect
When you donate, we collect your name, mobile number, email address, the amount, the fund you chose, and any note you leave. If you pay directly to our UPI ID or bank account we also record the reference number you give us, so a committee member can match it against the masjid's bank statement.
Your mobile number is required. We need a way to reach you if a payment fails or a reference cannot be matched, and for many in our community a phone number is the most reliable way to make contact.
When you send us a message through the contact form, we collect your name, email, mobile number and the message itself.
When you join an online class, your display name is visible to the others in the room, as it would be in any classroom. We do not record classes.
What we never collect
We never see or store your card number, UPI PIN, bank password or any other payment credential. Online payments are handled entirely by Razorpay, our payment gateway, on their own systems. We receive only a confirmation that a payment succeeded and a reference number for it.
Why we keep it
We keep donation records because a masjid has to be able to account for the money it receives, and because you are entitled to a receipt for what you gave. We keep contact messages so we can answer them.
Who can see it
Only members of the masjid committee with an account on this system, and only as much as their role requires. Committee members handling money can see donation records; those who publish announcements cannot.
We do not share your information with anyone else, except where we must: our payment gateway and our email provider, who process it only in order to take the payment and send your receipt, and any authority that requires it of us by law.
Contributions in kind
When someone gives goods or materials to the masjid, we may publish that gift on our contributions page — but only with the giver's agreement, and only in the form they chose. A giver can ask to be listed without their name, or to have the gift recorded in someone else's name. Phone numbers and contact details of givers are never published.
Photographs
Photographs of masjid projects and events may be published on this website. If you appear in a photograph and would rather not, tell us and we will remove it.
How long we keep it
Donation records and receipts are kept for eight years, as accounting records generally must be. Contact messages are kept for two years. Class records are kept for one year.
Your choices
You may ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — though we may have to keep donation records for the accounting period above. If you are receiving monthly donation reminders, every one of those emails has a link that stops them immediately.
Contact
