About Hameediya Masjid, Khajipur

Hameediya Masjid, Khajipur serves the Muslim families of Khajipur village and the hamlets around it. Like most masjids in our part of the country, it began with the people of the village themselves — families who wanted somewhere to pray together, and somewhere their children could learn to read the Qur'an.

What started as a small place of prayer has grown, through the sadaqah of ordinary people in this village, into the masjid that stands today. Every extension, every repair, every carpet and fan in it was given by someone from this community or by well-wishers who heard of the need.

Today the masjid holds the five daily prayers, Jumu'ah, taraweeh through Ramadan and the Eid salah for the whole village. Our Maulana teaches Qur'an, Urdu and Arabic to the children — now online as well, so a child who cannot walk to the masjid that day can still join the class. The committee also distributes zakat to eligible families in the area, and helps neighbouring masjids that come to us in need.

An elected committee manages the masjid and its finances. Every donation received is recorded and receipted, and the projects it pays for are published on this website with what they cost — so anyone who gives can see exactly where it went.
