Before eating
بِسْمِ اللهِ وَعَلَى بَرَكَةِ اللهِ
How to say it
Bismillahi wa ‘ala barakatillah
What it means
In the name of Allah, and with the blessing of Allah.

After eating
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنَا وَسَقَانَا وَجَعَلَنَا مُسْلِمِينَ
How to say it
Alhamdu lillahil ladhi at‘amana wa saqana wa ja‘alana muslimin
What it means
Praise be to Allah, who fed us and gave us drink and made us Muslims.

Before sleeping
اللَّهُمَّ بِاسْمِكَ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا
How to say it
Allahumma bismika amutu wa ahya
What it means
O Allah, in Your name I die and I live.

On waking
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ
How to say it
Alhamdu lillahil ladhi ahyana ba‘da ma amatana wa ilayhin-nushur
What it means
Praise be to Allah, who gave us life after causing us to die, and to Him is the return.

Entering the masjid
اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ
How to say it
Allahummaftah li abwaba rahmatik
What it means
O Allah, open for me the doors of Your mercy.

Leaving the masjid
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ
How to say it
Allahumma inni as’aluka min fadlik
What it means
O Allah, I ask You of Your bounty.

Durood Sharif
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
How to say it
Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammadin wa ‘ala ali Muhammad
What it means
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad.
